The race

GypsyGrrl and I went to see a footrace that Robbie was competing in. Nobody wanted to sit near either of us. Probably because we're Romany. But I managed to ignore their rudeness and just tried to enjoy the race. About halfway in, one of the runners tripped and toppled onto one of the other racers. It was a little funny. GypsyGrrl and I were laughing pretty hard. The two runners were walked off of the track and had their injuries taken care of. At the end of the race, (Read: after Robbie had won) the judges decided that the race was null and void. They claimed it was because of the racers that tripped, but nobody said anything about it at the time. They only decided that after the race was won by Robbie--a Romani--who they believed could never do anything better than one of themselves. How can they get away with this?

Lunch!

Well! Curiosity killed that cat. I got my wish all right! Today we had an assembly--an assembly only for the Roma pupils. We were told that our school-day was being cut down. We're only going to get ten minutes to eat our lunch! What is happening?! How can we possibly eat lunch in ten minutes? I'm a straight-A student. I can't miss time out of every class! And I will not starve either!

Piece of paper

Today, while passing my English teacher's desk, I noticed the that a few of the student's names from the class where on sheet of paper- a memo from the principal. Myself, GypsyGrrl, and a few others in the class were on it. The teacher came in so I sat back down in my seat. However, I could not stop thinking about the oddness of it. Then it stuck me-everyone on that list was from Roma descent!

I told my mom about what I found out today. She got a very saddening look on her face like she knew that this was coming. I couldn't help but feel a knot in my stomach from the look on Mother's face. Well off to bed... I wish I knew what the list means...
